Designed for puppies between 8 and 16 weeks of age, Puppy School plays an important role in the early development and socialisation of young puppies, teaching them essential skills for life.

A puppy’s brain is like a sponge – what they experience today will influence what type of personality they have when they are adults. Because puppies develop like this, socialisation and training is imperative in the first few weeks and months of their life.

The Vets on Parker puppy pre-school is a relaxed and fun environment where puppies learn to socialise and owners learn basic dog training skills. Led by the experienced team of trainers from Positive K9 Training, our puppy pre-school makes sure that you and your puppy receive the care that you need during this period.

FAQs

At what age can my puppy attend puppy school?

At Vets on Parker, our puppy preschool is designed for puppies aged 8-14 weeks at the start of the first class. We will allow puppies to start as old as 16 weeks for some breeds. For further information, please reach out to us at 9850 1355.

How long are classes at puppy school?

Each class at puppy preschool lasts 50 to 60 minutes and runs consecutively for five weeks.

Who runs the classes?

Our puppy preschool classes are run by an experienced professional dog trainer from Positive K9 Training.

Where are classes held?

The classes are held outdoors in our fully enclosed puppy preschool yard. You can access the area via the stairs to the right of the reception area entrance or via the Ruffey Street car park.

Do classes run during wet weather?

Generally, our puppy preschool classes run in all weather except thunderstorms or heavy rain. The clinic will notify you via SMS if a class has been cancelled.

Does my puppy need to be vaccinated to attend?

Yes, all puppies must have received their first puppy vaccination before their first class at puppy preschool.
